Healthy Weight

Help to achieve and maintain a healthy weight

Healthy Weight is a 10-week telephone counseling program that focuses on lifestyle change. It is designed to help people develop the knowledge and skills needed to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. The program is appropriate for those who are overweight and is available to all Lovelace Health Plan members ages 18 and over. Call us for more information and to enroll in the Healthy Weight Program.

Schedule
After an initial assessment to determine your readiness to change, you will be scheduled for 10 weekly one-on-one counseling sessions with a registered nurse. Sessions are designed to fit the individual and typically last 20 - 30 minutes each.

Components
The program centers on learning and adopting:

  • Healthy eating habits, especially focusing on lower calorie foods
  • Regular physical activity as a lifelong practice
